...in the 2015 fiscal year, according to UEFA.
The return on our "investment" sucks!!! Clearly some pretty shit decisions have been made and money badly spent.
So our team must be almost as good as Dortmund's right?
Something not quite right there. I would imagine 2015 fiscal year corresponds roughly with our accounting period to 31July 2015. Those accounts for a fourteen month period show total wages costs of £82,540,567 plus directors fees of £787,583. Vast difference?
So, apart from the "Big Six" we have the highest wage bill in British football? I find that hard to believe. Surely teams such as Everton, Stoke, Southampton, Leicester etc with the top players they have must be paying them more than we pay our lot?
But if the figures are correct then no way are we getting value for money. I suggest future players get paid a decent basic with the rest in bonuses for results and league position etc. I think we do something like that anyway and, if we do, it needs to be revised.
Yet all 18 teams above us would hump us in a match.
This is from 2015, so Leicester wouldn't be there but I definitely agree with Everton, Stoke & Southampton. Especially over Villa as well.
I don't believe this graphic is showing accurate results, too many teams missing.
If this is accurate, no wonder they brought in Altman. Jenkins doesn't know what the hell he's doing.
The figures can't be correct. West Ham pays Payet £125.000 a week, Andy Carroll is on £100.000 a week. Everton, Stoke, Southampton have all high earners on their wage bill.
I've got some doubts those figures for us are accurate. I'd have thought we'd be in the bottom half when it came to premier league teams not 7th
How much were we paying Gomis and Ayew though? Does their signing on fee also count towards their wage?
Just found the full graphic:
Apparently our inflated level is due to our fiscal year during this particular period being 14 rather than 12 months (we extended it from May to July).
